Warm Words From Our Community

"Learning to knit with Judith was a joy. She has a true talent for breaking down complicated patterns into simple, easy-to-follow steps, and she taught me how to read knitting charts and fix my own mistakes. I cannot wait to take her class again."

“Judith is a true knitting aficionado. She not only loves the craft but also loves helping others learn and hone their skills. I took a beginner’s class with Judith that had different levels of students. All produced wonderful fingerless gloves and were anxious to progress to more intricate projects.”

“I really enjoyed Judith’s knitting class at the Cos Cob library. We met for a few weeks and at the end we had a completed project, which was a pair of fingerless gloves/mittens. Judith explained how to read the pattern, and all the stitches from casting  on to binding off. When the class was finished, I felt confident to start my own knitting project.  Judith created a warm environment to learn in.”

“After a 30-year hiatus from knitting, I had the opportunity to participate in a knitting program with Judith as our instructor.  From the start, Judith generously shared her vast knowledge, skill and passion for the craft.  Her organized teaching style helped me gain confidence in translating knitting terminology and patterns into finished garments.  Judith’s upbeat and encouraging style is inspiring and I look forward to taking more programs with her.”

“I remember the day that I joined Judith's class. I was so very happy to have joined her class within minutes of sitting down. I had no real experience in knitting because I always felt intimidated by all of the different types of knits..eg. knit 1 purl 2 I said to myself Oh no Ruby ,no way you could learn this ,it felt and sounded too difficult. I was a crochet person and I was much younger and had no patience..lol!!

Anyway, fast forward I retired and decided to take the beginners class offered at the Wallace Center. From the moment that I sat down I was happy that I said yes to Judith's class. She was engaging , patient and super informative. There wasn't a question that she could not answer clearly and concisely.

And may I add how much fun it was. I made a set of knitted fingerless gloves and it came out great. I recommend Judith's class to people who think you can't and those who haven't knitted in ages. Judith can teach anyone at any level. I can't wait to see what she's going to do next in the knitting world and I hope that I have the opportunity to participate. Thank you Judith for giving me confidence to learn again at in my 70's.”
